Run Trips Gain Popularity Among Runners Seeking Overseas Marathons
Growing Interest in Package Tours With Secured Race Entry Tickets
Hana Tour announced on the 3rd that it will launch the 'Saipan, Danang Run Trip' product, combining running and travel. The Run Trip product provides professional services including entry tickets to famous marathons around the world, airfare, hotels, and transportation. Travelers can also enjoy sightseeing before and after the race.
The '2025 Saipan Marathon 5 Days,' departing on the 6th of next month, is Hana Tour's representative Run Trip product, which successfully completed recruitment and event operations last year. This year, two types of products are offered: a package tour including the entry ticket and a free travel option. Both options include a race entry ticket (choice of full, half, 10k, or 5k), accommodation at a hotel in Saipan city, and round-trip pick-up and drop-off service between the airport and the hotel.
The package tour is accompanied throughout the Saipan trip by runner Park Min-kyung, currently an athlete affiliated with Ansan City Athletics and experienced in completing and leading multiple marathons. Park Min-kyung will hold two pre-running meetings in Seoul and lead the group on race day. A professional running photographer will also join to capture participants' 'run life shots.' The free travel option guarantees a comfortable and flexible schedule outside of the race events.
The '2025 Danang Marathon 5 Days' departs on March 21 and offers a choice between free travel or a package tour including a 5km race entry ticket. The package tour is accompanied throughout by Runjjong, an 8-year running influencer, who will also hold two pre-running meetings in Seoul. Additionally, for participants of the '2025 Sydney Marathon' (entry tickets sold separately), considered one of the world's seven major marathons, a package tour including airfare, hotel, and sightseeing is also offered.
A Hana Tour representative stated, "Domestic major marathon events are so competitive that registration closes within one minute, leading more runners to turn their attention to overseas marathons. We are securing tickets for famous international marathon events and linking expert running sessions to offer more Run Trip products than last year."
