On the 1st, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon criticized Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, saying, "The only explanation for his 180-degree change in mindset overnight is his single-minded determination not to go to prison."
Through Facebook on the same day, Mayor Oh said, "Many citizens must be realizing that Lee is a person who can make a U-turn at any time as they watch him change his stance in a chillingly opportunistic way just to save himself." This is analyzed as targeting Lee's recent indication of giving up the 250,000 won nationwide livelihood recovery support fund and his emphasis on pragmatic growth theory.
Mayor Oh stated, "If he has even a shred of desire to be recognized as sincere by the people, I hope he shows it through his actions," and added, "First, he should declare that he will review the existing Labor Standards Act, which uniformly applied a 52-hour workweek to all workplaces and suppressed corporate competitiveness."
He continued, "He should promptly pass the Special Act on Semiconductors and the three Energy Acts, and immediately withdraw anti-market and anti-business economic bad laws such as the Yellow Envelope Act, the Agricultural Management Act including the four agricultural laws, the National Assembly Testimony and Inspection Act, amendments to the Commercial Act, the Local Currency Act, and the Defense Business Act that requires National Assembly approval for overseas export of defense materials."
