Yangju City announced on the 31st that starting from the first week of February, public officials will participate together in the ‘Local Restaurant Usage Day.’

‘Local Restaurant Usage Day’ is a policy project prepared as part of the recently promoted ‘Public Sector Local Win-Win Project’ by the city to stabilize small business management and promote economic revitalization.

More than 1,000 city officials voluntarily use local restaurants twice a month on the first and third weeks, sharing the difficulties faced by local merchants struggling due to the economic downturn.

In particular, this project, which is carried out in conjunction with the ‘After-Work Local Economy Walk Day’ held on the second and fourth Fridays of each month, focuses on ‘continuous participation’ rather than one-time events. Public officials are taking the lead in promoting consumption, adding meaning to coexistence with the local community, attracting attention.

Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju said, “There is a consensus that public officials must take the lead to revive the local economy,” and added, “We will continue to discover and actively promote ways for small business owners and the city to coexist so that our local commercial district can regain vitality.”
