Gwangju University (President Kim Dongjin) announced on the 31st that it held a Lunar New Year event for international students who could not visit their hometowns during the holiday.
At the Lunar New Year event held on the 24th, about 100 international students gathered at a restaurant near the university to share warm greetings and the spirit of generosity associated with Korean holidays.
Na Mong, a language trainee from Mongolia, said, "Thanks to the university's consideration, I was able to spend the holiday with friends and not feel lonely. I will work hard in my studies after enjoying delicious food."
Lee Gipyo, Director of the Office of International Affairs, said, "Although each country has its own holiday traditions, I hope that international students who may feel lonely living abroad during the Lunar New Year will feel the warmth of Korean hospitality and focus even more on their studies."
