Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province (Governor Yoon Kyung-hee) aims to provide various citizen-centered welfare services this year with the goal of "Realizing Reliable Cheongsong Welfare."
First, to support fair social security benefits (basic livelihood security, basic pension, disability pension, allowances, lower-income class, etc.), eligibility will be strictly managed through investigations and on-site visits using the social security information system. By regularly updating personal and property information that frequently changes, the minimum living standards of beneficiaries will be guaranteed while preventing fraudulent claims.
Additionally, to eliminate welfare blind spots, the social security councils in towns and townships and human safety nets such as An-nyeong Salpimi will be strengthened. Through community organization and capacity building, village welfare plans will be established and implemented to support local residents in proactively solving village issues.
For residents who miss out on benefits due to lack of welfare information, "Happiness Planners" will be assigned in towns and townships to easily guide welfare information and improve welfare accessibility. Furthermore, the "Happiness Mobile Unit" will be operated to prevent solitary deaths, a recent social issue, thereby creating a dense welfare safety net.
Customized services by social class include psychological support services and lifestyle sports use services for children and adolescents, daily care services and home care and nursing visit support services for youth and middle-aged adults. For seniors, support for heating and cooling costs at senior centers and facility repairs and maintenance will be strengthened, and convenience will be enhanced by distributing items to revitalize senior centers.
In particular, through grain support and the operation of the "Happy Meal Table" (1 location) providing three meals a day, as well as weekday lunch support (1 location), seniors' healthy leisure activities will be supported.
Moreover, participation in senior job and social activity support projects will be expanded, and bathing fee support for seniors aged 70 and over will be increased from 24 to 36 times annually. Customized care services and emergency safety assurance services will be provided to vulnerable seniors such as those living alone to alleviate daily inconveniences and create a safe living environment.
Childcare support for parenting families will also be strengthened. Economic burdens will be reduced through parental allowances, infant care fees, and home care allowances, and customized support projects will be operated to stabilize the lives of low-income single-parent, unmarried, and grandparent-headed families.
Additionally, by expanding child care services, parenting gaps will be minimized, and from 2025, the Cheongsong-gun Multicultural Family Support Center, which will be converted into the Cheongsong-gun Family Center, will provide universal services for diverse families.
Support for children and adolescents will also be promoted. Comprehensive after-school care services such as the Youth After-School Academy, local children's centers, and Together Care Centers will reduce parental childcare burdens and support positive growth of children. In particular, the "Cheongsong-gun Care Space Creation Project" will remodel aging indoor playgrounds to provide safe and comfortable care spaces.
For youth, new cultural and recreational spaces such as creative playgrounds, ground fountains, and outdoor stages will be provided through the expansion of outdoor and cultural sports facilities.
Alongside this, to ease parents' educational expenses, support for purchasing uniforms for new middle and high school students will be increased, and dinner expenses for high school students will be supported, contributing to the improvement of student welfare. Various scholarships will be awarded to outstanding students, and quality educational information will be provided through the operation of the Cheongsong Talent Development Center. Lifelong learning programs such as adult literacy classes and the Happy Cheongsong Citizen University will be operated to help residents enjoy learning and improve their quality of life.
Governor Yoon Kyung-hee stated, "We will do our best to provide welfare services that all citizens can feel and to realize reliable Cheongsong welfare."
