Mokpo Magnolia Volunteer Society Continues Beautiful Acts of Sharing

Mokryeon Volunteer Society,
Over 2,000 Donated Items Delivered to the Community

The Mokryeon Volunteer Society, a volunteer group comprised of Mokpo City Hall officials and their families, continues to carry out donation activities in the local community.

According to the Mokryeon Volunteer Society on the 31st, on the 24th they delivered more than 2,000 various reusable items, including kitchenware, clothing, home appliances, daily necessities, and books, to Beautiful Store.

This sharing event has been ongoing, with the group collecting and donating about 500 items each in 2016, 2017, and 2023 that were no longer in use at home, and holding sales events. The proceeds from these sales have been used to support children and students using Dream Start, a welfare facility in Mokpo, among other continuous efforts.

Jung Hyangsuk, the president, said, “I am grateful for the active participation of our members. Through this sharing, we aim to create a happier world together and establish this event as an annual initiative that helps protect the earth and the environment.”

The Mokryeon Volunteer Society has been consistently engaged in volunteer activities within the community. Composed of about 50 family members of Mokpo City Hall officials, the group forms volunteer teams at nine welfare centers every week to provide meal support for the elderly and has worked to help neighbors in need in the region.

In particular, the Mokryeon Volunteer Society delivers warmth to those in need in the community through activities such as serving meals with the Love Food Truck, making Kimjang Kimchi, and distributing rice cakes at welfare centers during holidays.
