The '2025 Chunwan (Lunar New Year Special Program)' produced by China Media Group (CMG) was broadcast live from 8 PM on January 28 through TV channels including CCTV General Channel, Entertainment Channel, Chinese International Channel, as well as radio broadcast channels, CCTV News, CRI online, and other new media platforms.
In this Chunwan, the creative fusion dance "YangBOT," directed by world-renowned director Zhang Yimou, attracted much attention. Based on the creative concept of "ideology + art + technology," this work combined the traditional dance Yangge from the Northeast region with robot technology to present a colorful and dynamic stage performance.
Additionally, the dance "Good News" drew attention by relocating the stage to the Song Dynasty era with delicate and elegant stage direction, based on the traditional symbolism of "a magpie perching on a branch."
The song "Together China FUN," themed around "China Travel," was introduced as a bright and lively melody incorporating internet buzzwords to promote the charm of traveling in China. Using keywords such as "City Walk" and "Country Walk," it proposed a Chinese cultural experience to viewers worldwide.
The Tibetan song "When Cosmos Bloom" was performed jointly by Tibetan singer Chaidanzhuma and actor Liu Tao, capturing the local atmosphere.
The drama program "Chengdong Li Yuan" recreated a scene from the traditional opera "Lianyingcai," expressing the magnificent momentum of soldiers departing for battle.
Meanwhile, in the martial arts performance "Brush Warrior," world-famous action star Donnie Yen showcased a performance using traditional Tai Chi to embody the calligraphic cursive style of "Brush Warrior."
