The parents of NewJeans members Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein have created social media accounts.
On the 31st, the parents stated, "This account is temporarily operated and was inevitably created to represent our position in the dispute with HYBE."
They added, "The content delivered through this account will mainly be matters that the members find difficult to communicate directly. As the members' only current representatives, we ask for your understanding as this is an urgent situation requiring a communication channel to correct the facts."
Last November, NewJeans members held a press conference claiming that Adore bears responsibility and that they have no obligation to pay penalties, asserting the termination of their contract. Recently, they made it clear that they have no intention of returning to Adore by holding a contest for new stage names.
Adore maintains that the contract with NewJeans is valid until July 2029. Adore has filed a lawsuit in court against the NewJeans members for 'confirmation of the validity of the exclusive contract' and a provisional injunction to 'preserve the agency's status and prohibit signing advertising contracts.' In response, the NewJeans members have appointed the law firm Sejong as their legal representative.
