‘2025 Trade Support Implementation Plan’ Established
A Total of 2.497 Billion KRW Invested Across Four Areas
Ulsan City has established and is actively promoting the ‘2025 Trade Support Implementation Plan’ to expand exports of local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by pioneering overseas market channels.
The ‘2025 Trade Support Implementation Plan’ consists of 20 projects across four areas: ▲support for overseas market development ▲export package support by growth stage ▲overseas promotion support ▲strengthening capabilities to respond to changes in the trade environment.
The total project budget amounts to 2.497 billion KRW.
Key projects by area include support for overseas market development, which involves dispatching overseas trade delegations and market development teams (scheduled 5 times) to SMEs wishing to enter overseas markets, and supporting participation in major overseas exhibitions and fairs (scheduled 3 times).
The export package support by growth stage area provides customized support by categorizing companies into export beginners, promising exporters, and strong export SMEs based on their export performance.
The overseas marketing support area expands subsidies for international express overseas logistics costs to alleviate export-import logistics difficulties and corporate logistics cost burdens caused by changes in the trade environment. It also supports promotional activities necessary from export preparation to export contracts for SMEs.
Finally, to strengthen capabilities to respond to changes in the trade environment, continuous efforts will be made to support export insurance premium subsidies, acquisition of overseas standard certifications, operation of multinational family export support teams, and internship support for university students in SMEs.
An official from Ulsan City stated, “Although there are many export constraints such as increased uncertainty following the inauguration of the new US administration and intensified US-China conflicts leading to fiercer global market competition, Ulsan City and export support organizations will work organically together to make every effort to expand exports of local SMEs.”
Last year, Ulsan City also actively promoted SME exports by supporting 1,276 local companies with a budget of 2.495 billion KRW through 21 projects in four areas under the trade support program.
