LG Electronics announced on the 30th that it has officially received certification for 'Google Cast,' allowing users to enjoy online video services (OTT) watched at home in hotels.

Google Cast is Google's wireless sharing technology that enables easy content transmission between devices. Through collaboration with Google, LG Electronics received official certification for Google Cast for hotel TVs on the 10th and began offering the service on hotel TVs both domestically and internationally. LG Electronics' Google Cast for hotel TVs allows connection simply by scanning a QR code on the screen without needing to connect to the same Wi-Fi network as the hotel TV.

Users are automatically logged into OTT apps without entering personal information, and the connection remains active until checkout. Connection history between the TV and personal devices is automatically deleted upon checkout through a personal data deletion feature. Additionally, separating networks between rooms reduces the risk of privacy invasion or personal information leakage.

With this, LG explained that its hotel TVs have become the world's first TVs to simultaneously offer Apple's wireless content sharing technology 'AirPlay' and Google Cast.

LG Electronics plans to create an exhibition area replicating a hotel at the commercial display exhibition 'ISE 2025,' held from the 4th to the 7th of next month in Barcelona, Spain. At the exhibition, LG will propose a 'hospitality experience that becomes a memory the moment you stay' through various solutions, including hotel TVs equipped with Google Cast. In addition, LG Electronics is accelerating its market strategy with various hospitality solutions for hotels and resorts, including hotel TVs, software, and signage.
