Suwon City Launches 'Good Prepayment Campaign' to Revitalize Local Economy

The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province will carry out the ‘Good Prepayment Campaign’ until March to revitalize the stagnant local alleyway commercial districts.

The Good Prepayment Campaign involves making advance payments at small business stores and continuously visiting them while using the prepaid amount in installments.

Suwon city officials, partner organizations, and related groups voluntarily participate in the campaign.

Customers can make advance payments of a certain amount at small business stores such as Suwon’s traditional markets, alleyway shopping districts, Good Price Stores, and businesses participating in the ‘Suwon Pay 10+10’ program, then fill out a prepayment confirmation and use the amount within one month.

The ‘Suwon Pay 10+10 Event’ offers up to a 10% discount when paying with Suwon Pay at participating businesses.

Participating businesses can choose their discount rate (5%, 7%, or 10%). By charging Suwon Pay and receiving a 10% incentive, and then using Suwon Pay at participating businesses to get up to a 10% discount, customers can effectively receive up to a 20% discount.

On the 23rd, Suwon City held a meeting at Suwon City Hall with traditional market merchant association presidents, small business federation presidents, alleyway shopping district federation executives, Good Price Store operators, and representatives of 10+10 participating businesses to explain the campaign promotion plan.

The small business representatives attending the meeting pledged to actively participate in the Good Prepayment Campaign and promote it diligently.

A Suwon city official stated, "To revive the local economy, we have issued Suwon Pay on the largest scale ever, and the ‘Suwon Pay 10+10 Event’ is also underway," adding, "We hope the Good Prepayment Campaign will help small business owners struggling due to the economic downturn."
