"Yoon Reduced to a Defendant"
"Detained on Charges of Leading an Insurrection"
"Setting New 'Dark Records'... Pitiful Situation," Citing Foreign Media
President Yoon Seokyeol was indicted and detained at the Seoul Detention Center on the 26th. It has been reported that North Korea informed its citizens of this development three days later.
On the 29th, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) and the Workers' Party's official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, reported on President Yoon's detention with an article titled "Puppet Yoon Seokyeol Indicted and Detained, Reduced to a Defendant in South Korea." The agency stated, "As the impeachment trial and criminal investigation into puppet Yoon Seokyeol, who caused severe social and political chaos through emergency martial law maneuvers, are in full swing, Yoon has been indicted and detained on charges of leading an insurrection."

The report continued, "The Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO) attempted to forcibly bring in puppet Yoon after he repeatedly refused to comply with investigation requests, even trying to conduct an on-site investigation at the Seoul Detention Center, but these attempts repeatedly failed." It further explained, "Since the CIO does not have the authority to indict, it was unable to properly investigate puppet Yoon even once, and on the 23rd, handed the case over to the puppet prosecution." The report added that prosecutors twice requested extensions of Yoon's detention period from the court, but both requests were denied, and as a result, Yoon was brought to trial on the 26th, just one day before the expiration of his detention period.
The agency stated, "Puppet Yoon now faces both impeachment proceedings at the Constitutional Court and criminal trial at the Seoul Central District Court," and added, "With his indictment and detention by the prosecution, Yoon Seokyeol has become a defendant and will remain in custody, being brought to court until the first verdict is delivered." The report also cited statements from the Democratic Party of Korea, the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, Lawyers for a Democratic Society (Minbyun), and other civic organizations, claiming, "Yoon Seokyeol continues to incite far-right conservative forces and is desperately struggling to escape the impeachment crisis that has driven him to the edge."
Additionally, citing foreign media reports, the agency introduced, "Yoon Seokyeol, as a sitting president, is setting unprecedented 'dark records,' highlighting the pitiful situation of puppet Yoon." It was confirmed that this coverage, like previous reports, appeared on the international section of Rodong Sinmun.
