Livestock Barn Collapses Continue
On the 29th, the day of Seollal, heavy snowfall during the holiday caused the cancellation of 9 flights and 40 passenger ships.

According to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (CDSCH) heavy snow response report as of 6 a.m. that day, 9 flights were unable to depart from Gimpo Airport (4 flights) and Gimhae Airport (5 flights).
Passenger ships on 30 routes, including Incheon?Baengnyeong, Jeonnam Gyema?Anma, and Pohang?Ulleungdo, totaling 40 vessels, suspended operations.
Road traffic was also restricted, with 26 local roads closed in 2 locations in Gyeonggi, 3 in Chungbuk, 6 in Chungnam, and 5 in Jeonnam.
Hiking trails were blocked as well. A total of 386 trails across 18 national parks, including Mudeungsan and Jirisan, were closed.
The fire department reported that from the 27th until now, they have conducted a total of 261 heavy snow-related firefighting activities, including 105 rescues and 156 safety measures, with no casualties reported.
Facility damage was mainly concentrated in the Chungnam region, where 13 livestock barns for pigs, cattle, and goats collapsed, along with 1 vinyl greenhouse collapse.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, a heavy snow warning is currently in effect mainly in the Chungcheong and Jeolla regions, with snowfall rates of 1 to 3 cm per hour.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety activated Level 2 of the CDSCH on the 27th and raised the heavy snow crisis alert to the 'caution' level.
