Gimhae International Airport, where the Air Busan aircraft fire occurred, is operating normally on the morning of the 29th.
On the afternoon of the 28th, a fire broke out inside Air Busan flight BX391, bound for Hong Kong, which was preparing for takeoff with 170 passengers and 6 crew members on board at Gimhae Airport apron. The fire was completely extinguished after 1 hour and 16 minutes, and all 176 people, including 170 passengers (one boarding technician included) and 6 crew members, escaped using the emergency slide. The Gimhae International Airport Air Traffic Control Center announced that the Air Busan aircraft, which was scheduled to depart for Jeju at 6:50 a.m., took off normally at around 7:02 a.m.
Following this, the Jeju Air flight scheduled to depart for Fukuoka, Japan at 7:00 a.m. took off at around 7:09 a.m.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is investigating the cause of the Air Busan passenger plane fire at Gimhae Airport that occurred the previous day. They stated that the 271 flights scheduled for the day are operating normally and that thorough safety inspections of airport facilities will be conducted.
