Yongin Light Rail Transit Temporarily Suspended Due to Heavy Snowfall
Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) announced on the 28th that due to nationwide heavy snowfall and cold waves, it is operating the KTX Gyeongbu High-Speed Line, Honam High-Speed Line, Gangneung Line, and Jungang Line at reduced speeds to ensure safety.
The sections with reduced speeds and speed limits are ▲Gyeongbu High-Speed Line Gwangmyeong to Dongdaegu, all trains in both directions at speeds below 170 km/h (from 12:00 AM to 12:00 PM) ▲Honam High-Speed Line Osong to Gongju, all trains in both directions at speeds below 230 km/h (from 5:00 AM until further notice) ▲Gangneung Line Manjong to Namgangneung, all trains in both directions at speeds below 170 km/h (from 5:30 AM until further notice) ▲Jungang Line Seowonju to Bongyang, all trains in both directions at speeds below 230 km/h (from 6:30 AM until further notice).
Light rail operations have also been suspended. Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced that the Yongin Light Rail transit was temporarily suspended from around 8:36 AM due to heavy snowfall. A heavy snow warning had been in effect in Yongin since 7:00 AM. Yongin City urged light rail passengers to use alternative transportation.
