Honam University Confucius Institute Successfully Holds New Year's Celebration

Honam University announced on the 27th that the Confucius Institute recently held a New Year's celebration with students, marking the beginning of the new year with great success.

This event, which reflected on the achievements of students' Chinese language improvement and Korea-China cultural exchange over the past year, was attended by native-speaking teachers, Confucius Institute Director Wu Bin Zhongbang, and Deputy Director Yoo Young, among others.

At this New Year's event, 14 students received awards at the 3rd Korea-China Children's Art Competition. The following performances included a variety of stages prepared by the students, such as choir, singing, poetry recitation, and dance, which were met with enthusiastic applause from the audience.

In his welcome speech, Director Wu Bin Zhongbang stated, "The Confucius Institute is preparing for a new leap forward based on a learner-centered operational principle," and added, "We will continue to open opportunities for Korea-China cultural exchange and the promotion of friendship."

A Confucius Institute official said, "We plan to further strengthen the friendship between Korea and China by regularly organizing cultural exchange events," and added, "In addition, we will expand various learning programs to improve the quality of Chinese language education."
