Trump: "I hope Arab countries take in many Gaza residents... Saudi Arabia may be the first country I visit"

Trump: "I hope Arab countries take in many Gaza residents... Saudi Arabia may be the first country I visit"

According to major foreign media including CNN on the 25th (local time), President Trump explained to reporters on board Air Force One about his phone call with King Abdullah II of Jordan and said he requested that Jordan accept more Palestinians. President Trump added that he would discuss this with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on the 26th.

President Trump also said, "Almost everything has collapsed and people are dying, so I would rather cooperate with some Arab countries to build housing in other places where they can live peacefully." CNN described this plan to relocate over one million Palestinians to other countries as surprising and unprecedented.

Israel and the Palestinian armed group Hamas have been under a ceasefire since the 19th. Amid the Middle East conflict, many Palestinian refugees live in refugee camps in Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and other countries. When the Gaza war began, Egypt declared it would no longer accept Palestinian refugees.

Meanwhile, President Trump said Saudi Arabia could be his first overseas visit country after taking office. He also visited Saudi Arabia first during his first term. However, he left room for possibility by stating that he plans to speak with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer within 24 hours.

Regarding the sale of the Chinese-origin video platform TikTok, he said a decision would be made within 30 days. On the plan for the United States to take control of Greenland, a Danish territory, he claimed, "We think we will have it," and asserted, "The people of Greenland want to be with us."
