Busan Gijang-gun (Governor Jeong Jong-bok) will activate an emergency medical system during the Lunar New Year holiday period to minimize medical service gaps and alleviate inconveniences for residents.
The Gijang-gun Public Health Center will deploy doctors and other medical staff to provide emergency medical services for four days from the 27th to the 30th.
Additionally, to ensure a prompt response to emergency patients during the holiday period, an emergency medical system will be established, providing systematic medical services centered around local hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, and the public health center.
A total of 214 locations will participate in this emergency medical service, including 157 local hospitals and clinics, 56 pharmacies, and the Gijang-gun Public Health Center. In particular, the regional emergency medical institutions, Dongnam Institute of Radiological & Medical Sciences and Gijang Hospital, will operate 24-hour emergency rooms to provide emergency medical services. The I&Angel Women’s Clinic will also offer 24-hour emergency delivery services to support the safe childbirth of mothers.
A representative from the Gijang-gun Public Health Center stated, “We will maintain the emergency medical system throughout the Lunar New Year holiday to ensure that citizens can have a safe and healthy holiday.” They added, “However, operating hours of hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies may change depending on the medical situation, so please be sure to call ahead before visiting.”
