Provides Weather Information and Text Message Alerts to Farmers
The Ulsan Agricultural Technology Center provides weather information services to prevent weather-related disasters and control pests and diseases on farms.
The weather information service is offered through the Ulsan Agricultural Information and Communication Technology Integrated Information System and text message notifications.
The Ulsan Agricultural Information and Communication Technology Integrated Information System provides real-time weather data collection and analysis, integrated weather services, and pest and weather risk prediction services.
Additionally, a text message notification service is provided to inform about weather disaster forecasts and pest occurrence information. These messages are sent only to fruit farmers registered with the Agricultural Technology Center, and last year, a total of 9 notifications were sent to 6,923 farms.
Fruit farmers who wish to subscribe to this text message service can contact the Agricultural Technology Team.
An official from the Agricultural Technology Center stated, “Through thorough weather data observation and analysis, we aim to prevent weather disasters and promptly inform farmers about pest occurrences to improve agricultural product quality, minimize farm damage caused by weather disasters, and contribute to the stability of agricultural product supply and demand.”
