On January 24, ahead of the six-day long Lunar New Year holiday, Jeon Seong-su, Mayor of Seocho-gu, visited local livelihood sites.

He toured the rice cake mill and neighborhood supermarket in Bangbae-dong, a villa-dense area, to hear the sincere voices of residents about the holiday peak season economy. Upon hearing merchants say, "Holiday peak sales are not as good as before," Mayor Jeon purchased rice cake soup rice cakes on the spot and encouraged the merchants. Hearing residents say, "It's hard to shop because prices have risen," he promised to actively support them so they can maintain their daily lives.

He also visited the home of a senior who will receive the "Seocho-gu Longevity Senior Celebration Fund" this year at age 99, checking if there were any inconveniences and wishing them good health.

Since December last year, Mayor Jeon has been visiting livelihood sites to directly listen to merchants' voices and has been deeply concerned about revitalizing the economy. With the difficult national situation and domestic economic downturn causing consumer sentiment to shrink sharply in the new year, he believes that protecting residents' daily lives with unwavering administrative power is the foremost duty of a local government head, and has rolled up his sleeves to act.

First, to revive the frozen economy, he quickly implemented the "Three Major Projects for Bustling Alleyway Markets" by releasing 60 billion KRW to revitalize 11 alleyway commercial districts, issue Seocho Love Gift Certificates, and hold the Seocho Direct Transaction Grand Market. Additionally, aiming to promote livelihood recovery closely connected to daily life, he prepared 20 detailed support measures across four major areas: economy, resident life, welfare support, and health care. Furthermore, he is actively working to eliminate unreasonable regulations and promptly execute budgets to lead livelihood recovery.

Mayor Jeon Seong-su of Seocho-gu said, "Local autonomy is about ensuring that people's livelihoods run smoothly. I will be a strong support to wisely overcome the crisis with policies that provide practical help to merchants and residents who are expressing difficulties in their daily lives."

On the morning of the 24th, Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, participated in the "Exciting Day Rice Cake Soup Rice Sharing" event held at Seongsan 1-dong Community Center with marriage immigrant women.

The event, hosted by the Mapo-gu Saemaul Women's Association, was made more meaningful by the participation of marriage immigrant women.

Mayor Park Gang-su, marriage immigrant women, and members of the Women's Association who attended the event sliced rice cake soup rice cakes to be shared with neighbors. The sliced rice cakes will be delivered to 150 low-income households, 1.5 kg per household.

Mayor Park Gang-su expressed his gratitude, saying, "I sincerely thank Chairwoman Ahsookhee and the members of the Women's Association for holding this sharing event for neighbors in celebration of the Lunar New Year," and added, "I hope this will be an opportunity for marriage immigrant women to experience Korean culture and build affection among neighbors," conveying his New Year's greetings.

On the afternoon of the 23rd, ahead of the Lunar New Year, Park Hee-young, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, visited three traditional markets in the area to experience ritual goods prices and spend time communicating with market merchants.

Mayor Park visited Ichon Market, Huam Market, and Yongsan Yongmun Market in sequence, shopping directly using Onnuri Gift Certificates to check prices. He visited various stores in each market and greeted merchants, listening attentively to their difficulties and suggestions.

Mayor Park Hee-young of Yongsan-gu said, "For this Lunar New Year, we have prepared various events such as Onnuri Gift Certificate refunds for each traditional market to reduce the shopping burden on residents," and added, "Although the unstable political and economic situation continues, we will promote various support measures such as facility modernization and image improvement projects to revitalize traditional markets."

To revitalize the local economy, the district issued 10 billion KRW worth of Yongsan Love Gift Certificates early on the 16th. Residents can purchase them at a 5% discount up to 500,000 KRW per person per month, with a maximum holding limit of 1.5 million KRW.
