Goh Han-seung, President of Samsung Electronics' Future Business Planning Group, has been reappointed as the chairman of the Korea Bio Association.


The Korea Bio Association announced on the 24th at its regular general meeting that Goh Han-seung, President of Samsung Electronics' Future Business Planning Group, has been confirmed for a third term as the 9th chairman of the Korea Bio Association.


Chairman Goh was first elected as the 7th chairman in 2021, served as the 8th chairman in 2023, and has now successfully secured a third consecutive term. His leadership is recognized for contributing to the strengthening of solidarity and cooperation within the bio industry.


Since the early stages of Samsung Group's bio business, Chairman Goh has built the foundation of the group's bio business based on his expertise. In November 2024, he was appointed as the head of Samsung Electronics' Future Business Planning Group, raising expectations for the expansion of Samsung's bio business. Continuing his role as chairman of the Korea Bio Association, he is expected to provide greater momentum to both Samsung Bio and the overall Korean bio industry.


Additionally, Chairman Goh was elected as a private member of the National Bio Committee and is set to begin active activities starting with the committee's launch on January 23. The National Bio Committee was established to foster the bio industry as a core national growth engine and will undertake various roles such as mid- to long-term strategy development, strengthening global competitiveness, regulatory innovation, and talent cultivation.


The Bio Association stated, "As a private member, Chairman Goh is expected to play an important role in proposing and establishing policies for industry development."


The Korea Bio Association is one of the leading organizations in Korea's bio industry, formed in November 2008 through the merger of the Korea Biotechnology Research Association established in 1982, the Korea Bio Industry Association established in 1991, and the Korea Bio Venture Association established in 2000. It currently has 660 member companies.
