Taking the Lead in Creating a Place Where Everyone Wants to Live
The Korea Life Improvement Gyeongnam Uiryeong-gun Federation recently held the inauguration and retirement ceremony for the 17th and 18th presidents on the 3rd floor of the Agricultural Technology Center, the federation announced on the 26th.
The event was attended by over 100 guests and members, including Uiryeong County Governor Oh Tae-wan, heads of various organizations, and Kim Nam-soon, the provincial federation president.
Over the past four years, the 17th president Kim Gye-hong, who has worked with outstanding dedication as a guardian of agriculture, environment, and culture to improve the status and quality of life of rural women, was presented with a plaque of appreciation on behalf of the members. The 18th president, newly appointed Jo Jeong-suk, succeeded him.
In her inaugural speech, President Jo stated, “I will strive to create a safe working environment for rural women and promote the consumption of local agricultural products. I will also care for neighbors and serve the local community.”
Governor Oh said, “I deeply appreciate the Life Improvement members who represent the voices from rural sites and work to develop the capabilities of women farmers. We will continue to develop policies to create diverse income sources for women farmers.”
Meanwhile, the Korea Life Improvement Uiryeong-gun Federation currently consists of 17 organizations and about 300 members. It was established as a learning organization that leads change as rural women leaders, realizing happy agriculture and rural communities through coexistence and communication, contributing to community development, volunteer work, and various activities to create a living environment where everyone wants to live.
