During the special alert duty period, mobile patrols will be conducted on fire-vulnerable targets to eliminate risk factors in advance, and on-site inspections for wildfire prevention will be expanded. In addition, the 119 emergency medical activities will be strengthened to respond to emergency transport, significantly enhancing on-site response readiness.

All firefighting equipment will be maintained at 100% operational status, and emergency dispatch routes will be secured for areas difficult for fire trucks to access and major traffic congestion zones. Pump ambulances will be proactively deployed to emergency medical vulnerable areas such as rural regions, and doctor-staffed helicopters (119 Heli-EMS) will be utilized to support the transport of critically ill patients.

Emergency medical councils and hotlines will be operated by region, and information on hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies open during the holiday period will be shared in real time to strengthen cooperation with related agencies.

Hong Jang-pyo, head of the Northern Fire and Disaster Headquarters, said, “We will do our best to protect the lives and property of residents by preparing thorough measures for fire prevention and emergency patient transport during the Lunar New Year holiday,” adding, “We will create a safe and happy holiday through meticulous prevention activities and prompt response.”
