Proposals on Various Topics Accepted Until the 14th of Next Month
Jangsu County in North Jeolla Province is launching a “2025 Population Policy Resident Idea Contest” until the 14th of next month.
According to the county on the 24th, this contest allows residents to directly propose the policies they need. Proposals can cover a wide range of topics, such as ways to attract new residents and vitalize the area, as well as improvements to local living conditions.
In particular, the contest stands out as it welcomes a broad spectrum of ideas covering not only improvements to living conditions but also responses to low birth rates, attracting new residents, expanding the economically active population, preparing for an aging society, and fostering local communities, thereby encompassing the overall county administration.
The county plans to assess the feasibility and specificity of the proposals and select outstanding ideas through a review process in April, awarding prizes to the winners. However, policies that are already in use or planned, or projects that simply provide material support, will be excluded from consideration.
County Governor Choi Hunsik said, “As changes in the county’s population structure continue and new concepts such as the living population emerge, it is necessary to discover policies that are differentiated from existing population policies. We will actively adopt effective ideas from residents and pursue proactive administration.”
