45,047 Cases Recorded
3 Percent Increase Compared to Previous Year
Gyeonggi Hanam City (Mayor Lee Hyun-jae) announced on the 24th that it has imposed a total of 855 million KRW on 45,047 cases subject to the 2025 regular registration license tax. This amount represents a 3% increase compared to the previous year.
Hanam City explained that the increase in business licenses due to the expansion of knowledge industry centers and commercial tenants is the main factor for the increase in taxable cases this time.
The regular registration license tax is a local tax imposed annually on January 1st on individuals and corporations who have obtained various licenses, permits, and approvals from administrative agencies. Differential tax rates ranging from Type 1 (45,000 KRW) to Type 5 (7,500 KRW) are applied depending on the type of license.
The payment deadline is until the 31st of this month, and payments can be made at all banks and post offices nationwide. Additionally, payments can be conveniently made using Wetax and ARS, and various methods such as cash cards (passbooks), credit cards, and local tax smart bills can be used through bank cash deposit/withdrawal machines (CD/ATM) without a tax notice.
A Hanam City official said, “The registration license tax is a valuable resource for regional development, so we ask for sincere payment within the deadline,” and added, “We sincerely thank all citizens who faithfully fulfill their tax obligations despite the difficult economic conditions.”
