Haenam Minam Festival Selected as Jeonnam's Representative Food Festival

Special Themed Zones Featuring Agricultural and Marine Products Receive Positive Reviews

The representative food festival of Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Myung Hyun-kwan), the 'Haenam Minam Festival,' has been selected as the representative festival of Jeollanam-do for 2025.

According to the county on the 24th, Jeollanam-do selects 10 representative provincial festivals every year from among the representative festivals of 22 cities and counties to foster excellent local festivals and strengthen their competitiveness. The 'Haenam Minam Festival' is held every autumn with the theme of Haenam's food and agricultural and marine specialties.

Last year, the festival received positive reviews for creating a unique food festival that cannot be found in other regions by operating the Minam Story Hall, which introduced the gastronomic history with Haenam's traditional sauces as the theme, and a special themed zone centered on sweet potatoes, the region's representative agricultural product.

In addition, large-scale food performances such as the 515 Kimchi Bibim and Haenam Minam Tteokguk Sharing, where visitors could participate directly, as well as the eco-friendly operation of the food and snack halls using reusable containers, were also highly praised.

The Haenam Minam Festival has been held in the area around Duryunsan Provincial Park since 2019, featuring a variety of foods made from Haenam's abundant agricultural and marine products. Last year, it attracted approximately 238,000 visitors.

Governor Myung Hyun-kwan said, "Being selected as the representative food festival of Jeollanam-do for four consecutive years shows that the Haenam Minam Festival has established itself as the province's leading festival," and added, "We will continue our efforts to promote the taste and charm of Haenam nationwide through the festival."
