There are 165 public interest (non-profit) corporations in Gyeongbuk Province, and from May to November, the provincial Office of Education and local education support offices will conduct joint inspections to prevent and improve problems in advance through guidance and inspection of office management and accounting execution, ensuring the faithful fulfillment of the corporations’ establishment purposes.

The main inspection items will include the implementation status of corrective actions from the previous year, performance of purpose projects, compliance with related laws and articles of incorporation, management of executives and employees, and asset management, reviewing the overall operational status of the corporations.

If illegal or improper acts are detected as a result of the inspection, on-site guidance and administrative sanctions will be imposed on the relevant corporation, and the matter will be reported to the competent tax office.

In particular, for corporations that fail to perform projects stipulated in their articles of incorporation or use less than 80% of operating income for purpose projects, measures such as dissolution will be encouraged to promote transparent and sound corporate management.

Yoo Jin-seon, Director of the Happy Education Support Division, said, “Since public interest (non-profit) corporations are established for the public interest of the general society and carry out purpose projects such as scholarship programs and academic research, we will promote transparent and smooth corporate management through systematic guidance and inspection.”
