Dongseo University Glocal College 30, Hosts 'Cultural Content Specialized Integrated College Education Innovation Workshop'

The Integrated College Preparation Committee of Dongseo University (President Jang Je-guk) recently held the "Glocal University 30, 2025 Cultural Content Specialization Integrated College Education Innovation Workshop" at the Im Kwon-taek College of Film and Performing Arts on the Centum Campus.

Dongseo University’s three colleges (Im Kwon-taek College of Film and Performing Arts, College of Media Contents, and College of Design) organized the Integrated College Preparation Committee to share relevant current issues and establish new and concrete education innovation strategies through comprehensive discussions in order to achieve the goal of becoming the "Asia’s Number One Integrated College Specializing in Cultural Contents."


The workshop was attended by Deans Jang Ju-young (College of Design), Kim Dae-seung (Im Kwon-taek College of Film and Performing Arts), Lee Dong-hoon (College of Media Contents), faculty members from the three colleges, as well as staff from the Admissions Office and Academic Affairs Office.


The main issues discussed at the workshop included ▲the vision and mission of the integrated college, conceptual framework, naming and branding, linkage with the Minerva Project ▲governance system and organizational chart ▲student management and support system ▲admissions strategy ▲integrated common liberal arts curriculum ▲global and industry-academia programs, covering overall plans and ideas for education innovation of the integrated college.


Additionally, the workshop invited Choi Soo-shin, an expert in education innovation and advisory professor (Chair of Industrial Design, Savannah College of Art and Design), to conduct an expert advisory meeting. The advisory meeting focused on topics such as ▲setting the ultimate educational goals related to nurturing talents with "Dongseo University uniqueness" ▲systematic education and curriculum cases and discussions ▲education applying technology and innovation ▲how the integrated college can appeal to students and parents with its sales points.


The Integrated College Preparation Committee plans to continue further discussions on the issues raised and discussed during the workshop and will compile these into a preliminary outline of the integrated college to be published in February 2025.
