The Department of Emergency Medical Services at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Young-do) conducted an Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider course over two days starting January 18, targeting eight students scheduled to graduate in February and seven nurses from the Rapid Response Teams (RRT) at Inje University Hospital and Dong-A University Hospital.
The ACLS Provider course is a specialized resuscitation training program certified by the American Heart Association (AHA), focusing on developing skills to respond to cardiac-related emergencies such as CPR and defibrillator use for cardiac arrest patients, evaluation and management of tachycardia and bradycardia patients, and treatment of myocardial infarction and stroke patients.
This training was organized to enhance the employment capabilities of graduating students and improve the professionalism of nurses at regional hospitals, with experienced instructors providing practice-oriented education.
Participants strengthened their field response skills through theoretical lectures and various practical exercises, including CPR for cardiac arrest patients, AED usage, and treatment of tachycardia and bradycardia patients.
Park So-yoon, a graduating student from the Department of Emergency Medical Services who participated in the training, said, “Through this training, I was able to develop the ability to respond quickly and accurately in emergencies such as cardiac arrest,” adding, “I am now prepared to confidently perform my role as an emergency medical technician in the field after graduation.”
Professor Lee Seul-gi of the Department of Emergency Medical Services at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology stated, “The graduating students have further strengthened their practical skills through this course, and the Rapid Response Team nurses had a valuable opportunity to secure their expertise,” and added, “We will continue to expand cooperation with regional medical institutions to provide customized education programs that meet the needs of students and healthcare professionals.”
The Department of Emergency Medical Services at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology plans to expand various field-centered programs to enable students and healthcare workers to receive more professional and practical education.
