The Ulsan Fire Headquarters will hold a demonstration of portable fire pumps to strengthen initial fire response at Sinjeong Market in Nam-gu at 10:30 a.m. on the 24th.

About 70 people, including Ulsan Mayor Kim Du-gyeom, Fire Headquarters Chief Lee Jae-soon, merchants, and other related personnel, will attend. The event will proceed with a progress report on the deployment of portable fire pumps and emergency fire extinguishing devices, followed by an operational demonstration.

During the demonstration, Mayor Kim Du-gyeom will personally participate to experience the fire suppression performance of the portable fire pumps and emergency fire extinguishing devices for initial fire suppression in case of fire.

The portable fire pumps and emergency fire extinguishing devices demonstrated on this day are mobile initial fire suppression equipment used in areas where fire truck access is difficult due to narrow roads, such as traditional markets and densely packed commercial areas. They connect to fire hydrants to increase the water volume and pressure of the emergency fire extinguishing devices.

Mayor Kim Du-gyeom said, “I hope that the deployment of fire equipment for initial fire suppression in traditional markets will serve as an opportunity to enhance the fire response capabilities of autonomous fire brigades in traditional markets.” He added, “We will continue to strengthen fire prevention in traditional markets through additional installation of fire equipment and fire response training.”
