Public Health Center Emergency Medical Team to Operate on January 27-28
Gangnam-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) will activate an emergency medical system during the Lunar New Year holiday from the 27th to the 30th to prepare for emergency patient occurrences. The public health center emergency medical team will be operated, and close coordination with medical institutions will be maintained through the emergency medical countermeasure situation room.
With the recent increase in flu patients, medical demand is expected to rise during the holiday period. To ensure that mild patients can receive treatment, the plan is to minimize inconvenience to residents by maintaining a smooth emergency medical system through the operation of the public health center emergency medical team and on-duty primary medical institutions.
The public health center emergency medical team will operate from 9 AM to 6 PM on the 27th and 28th. One doctor and one nurse will be on duty, treating mild patients on-site and directing severe patients to emergency medical institutions and emergency rooms. On the 29th and 30th, a standby team will be maintained at home and will report to work within one hour in case of an emergency.
The district will operate a 24-hour emergency medical countermeasure situation room. During daytime hours (9 AM to 6 PM), it will be located on the first floor of the public health center, and during nighttime hours (6 PM to 9 AM the next day), it will be integrated and operated with the district office comprehensive situation room. The situation room is connected with a total of 359 locations, including 120 medical clinics and hospitals and 239 pharmacies that are open in the district, to prepare for emergencies.
Residents can check the operating hours of open medical clinics, hospitals, and pharmacies through the banner at the top of the district office and public health center websites, the Health and Welfare Call Center (129), 119 Emergency Medical Situation Management Center (119), Dasan Call Center (120), and the Emergency Medical Portal (E-GEN). It is recommended to call the institution before visiting to confirm its operation status.
Meanwhile, six primary medical institutions will be open to provide emergency treatment for pediatric and adolescent patients under 18 years old. ▲Botongui Clinic (Apgujeong-dong) will operate from the 25th to the 30th, 9 AM to 10:30 PM ▲Dana Clinic (Nonhyeon 2-dong) from the 25th to 28th and on the 30th, 9 AM to 7 PM ▲Yonsei Bada Pediatric and Adolescent Clinic (Gaepo 4-dong) on the 25th from 9 AM to 2 PM, and from the 26th to 28th and on the 30th from 9 AM to 1 PM ▲Yonsei First ENT Clinic (Gaepo 2-dong) on the 25th from 9 AM to 2 PM, and from the 26th to the 30th from 9 AM to 1 PM ▲Yonsei Dowoori Pediatric and Adolescent Clinic (Gaepo 2-dong) from the 25th to 28th and on the 30th, 9 AM to 6 PM ▲Segok Dalbit Clinic (Segok-dong) from the 25th to the 30th, 9 AM to 9 PM will be available for treatment.
District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong stated, “We will maintain the emergency medical system during the holiday so that mild patients can be treated at the public health center and severe patients can be promptly connected to emergency medical institutions to prevent any gaps in medical care. We will do our best to respond to emergency medical needs so that residents can have a healthy and safe holiday.”
