Yongin City Seeks Companies to Join Alibaba.com Yongin Pavilion 'YoGo'

On the 24th, Yongin City announced that it is recruiting companies to participate in the Yongin brand pavilion 'YoGo' entry support project, which was established within Alibaba.com to help local SMEs enter the global online market.

Alibaba.com is the world's largest B2B trade platform, with over 47 million overseas buyers from more than 200 countries and regions including North America, Europe, and the Middle East. Among local governments nationwide, Yongin City is the first to establish a city brand pavilion on this platform.

This project is newly launched by the city this year to expand existing offline-centered SME export support programs such as exhibition participation and market development teams into the online realm. Eligible companies for entry support are SMEs with their headquarters or factory located in Yongin City and are newly entering Alibaba.com. The city plans to recruit a total of 12 companies.

Selected companies will receive partial support for the cost of the 'annual membership package' required for entry on Alibaba.com. The support fund will be provided by reimbursing 5 million KRW of the prepaid costs after the store construction on the site is completed.

Companies wishing to participate can submit their application forms through the 'Yongin Enterprise Support System' by the 10th of next month. On the 4th of next month, the city will also hold an explanatory session about the support project at the Yongin Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Applications for the explanatory session can be made on the Yongin Chamber of Commerce and Industry website.

A city official stated, "In response to the expansion of digital trade, we will actively support local SMEs to pioneer export markets online as well."
