Lee Bok-hyun, Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service, will announce the results of major inspections of financial holding companies and banks, including Woori Bank, from last year on the 4th of next month.
The Financial Supervisory Service announced this plan through a press briefing on the 23rd.
At this event, the inspection results of the improper loans to relatives by Woori Financial Group and Woori Bank will be disclosed. The Financial Supervisory Service publicized the improper loans to relatives related to former Woori Financial Group Chairman Sohn Tae-seung last year and conducted regular inspections targeting Woori Financial Group and Woori Bank. During this process, the Financial Supervisory Service confirmed additional illegal loans during the current management's tenure at Woori Financial Group.
The Financial Supervisory Service originally planned to announce the regular inspection results in December last year but postponed it once due to the aftermath of the emergency martial law situation and postponed it again to early February.
