Ulleung-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, launched the 3rd Representative Council and held the 1st meeting of the 2025 Regional Social Security Council Representative Council on the 23rd.
At the meeting, certificates of appointment were presented to the members of the 3rd Regional Social Security Council Representative Council, the private sector chairman and vice chairman were elected, and the annual operation plan of the Regional Social Security Council and the status of the operation of the town and township Regional Social Security Councils were reported in sequence.
Hwang Seong-ung (Director of Ulleung History and Culture Center) was elected as the private sector chairman of the Representative Council, and Jang Geum-sook (Head of Ulleung-gun Sarangui Yeolmae Nanum Volunteer Group) was elected as the vice chairman.
The appointed representative members are experts in each field with representativeness and expertise in the social security sector, and will perform roles such as deliberation and consultation related to social security for the residents and the local community.
Nam Han-gwon, the public chairman and Ulleung-gun governor, said, “The Ulleung-gun Regional Social Security Council is leading efforts to discover welfare resources and coordinate resource cooperation within the region, contributing to the development of local social welfare,” and added, “We expect all the newly launched 3rd term members to work hard to improve local welfare over the next two years.”
