As traditional markets are the optimal place for citizens preparing for the Lunar New Year to purchase fresh agricultural and marine products as well as various holiday gifts, this campaign served as an opportunity to promote the use of traditional markets, which are struggling due to reduced consumption, and to encourage the merchants.
The city encouraged many citizens to visit traditional markets to revitalize the local economy and contribute to increasing merchants' sales. It also informed citizens that during the holiday season, prices of seasonal products can rise sharply, but they can purchase high-quality goods at relatively affordable prices.
On the day, Mayor Na toured the Nambu Market area, purchased seasonal products using Onnuri gift certificates, and took time to listen to the merchants' difficulties. The purchased items will be delivered to welfare facilities within the jurisdiction.
Yangsan City has designated a special price stabilization period for the Lunar New Year holiday from January 15 to January 30, during which it is focusing on monitoring and managing ▲ price trends of seasonal products for the holiday ▲ compliance with price labeling regulations ▲ origin labeling ▲ and food hygiene sectors.
Mayor Na Dong-yeon emphasized, “Ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, I urge citizens to actively utilize traditional markets so they can easily obtain high-quality products at affordable prices. Through this, we can promote not only the development of the local economy but also price stabilization.”
