Store Owner Tells Customer to "Just Eat" Wrongly Delivered Gan Jjajang and Sweet and Sour Pork Set
Receives 10,000 Won via KakaoTalk Transfer Instead of Retrieving the Food
A young man who ended up eating wrongly delivered Jjajangmyeon with the store owner's permission sent money saying, "I can't eat for free," creating a heartwarming story.
On the 19th, a post titled "Heartwarming stories from store owners" was uploaded on the self-employed community "Apeunikka Sajangida" (It Hurts Because I'm a Boss). Store owner A, who runs a Chinese restaurant, said, "Yesterday, a set of Gan Jjajang and Sweet and Sour Pork was delivered to the wrong address," and continued, "Later, I received a call from the recipient through the restaurant number written on the chopstick wrapper saying, 'I think the delivery was wrong.'"
He explained, "At first, I said I would come to retrieve it, but I was grateful for the contact, so I called back." A said, "The noodles might be soggy and not good to eat, but the Gan Jjajang can be mixed with rice, and the Sweet and Sour Pork can be slightly reheated and eaten. I asked if it was okay to just keep the food," and heard a shy "Yes" through the phone.
A said, "I had forgotten about it, but the person saved the number I called and sent 10,000 won via KakaoTalk 'Send Money'." He attached a screenshot. The photo contained a message from the young man who ate the wrongly received food: "I unintentionally had a good dinner. I was raised to never take things for granted, so I'm sending the Jjajangmyeon money. I like Gan Jjajang, and it was delicious."
After seeing the message, A replied to the young man, "Many times, when food is delivered wrong, people don't contact us, so I really appreciate you reaching out. The noodles must have been soggy and inconvenient to dispose of, but you accepted it willingly, and we are thankful. We gratefully received your kindness, so please keep the money you sent." A expressed his feelings on the community, saying, "Is there such a righteous and decent young man in today's world? My husband and I were so touched that the world looks rosy today," and added, "The world is still warm."
Netizens who read the story responded warmly with comments like, "Is this how you gain regular customers?" "They deserve blessings," "What a wonderful mindset," "A heartwarming New Year's story," "How great it would be if all store owners and customers were like this," and "Such a delightful KakaoTalk message."
