"Yoon's Steady Response... Public Opinion Turns Against Democratic Occupation Forces," Shinpyeong Encouraged by Poll Results

President Yoon's 'Political Mentor' Lawyer Shin Pyeong Claims
"Yoon's Approval Ratings Soar... A Massive Current of Public Sentiment"
"Public Sentiment Shifted After Overreaching Occupying Force Behavior"

Shin Pyeong, a lawyer who was called President Yoon Suk-yeol's political mentor, recently described the rising approval ratings of President Yoon as a "massive current of public sentiment." On the 22nd, Shin stated on his social media (SNS), "There has been a tremendous surge in support for President Yoon," adding, "The media and opposition parties have tried to belittle this by calling it a 'consolidation of far-right forces' or 'a conservative overconcentration,' but it is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain such a one-sided perspective as the situation is serious."

"Yoon's Steady Response... Public Opinion Turns Against Democratic Occupation Forces," Shinpyeong Encouraged by Poll Results Lawyer Shin Pyeong and President Yoon Seok-yeol.

President Yoon, who is accused of leading a rebellion, is simultaneously facing investigations by the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Division (PCC) and impeachment proceedings at the Constitutional Court. Shin said, "President Yoon has handled all processes with composure. Despite all the ridicule, jeers, and spitting directed at him, he endured silently. To put it metaphorically, he burned himself with a sacred spirit of conviction." He emphasized, "Meanwhile, despite being ignored by almost all media and political circles, including conservative media, a massive current of public sentiment has begun to flow."

Regarding the poll results showing that public opinion favoring the ruling party's continuation in power has surpassed that favoring a regime change by the opposition, Shin called it a "remarkable result" and stressed, "The implications of this are enormously significant." He also forecasted, "As it reflects the rapid trends developed so far, it can gain more momentum moving forward."

Earlier, a survey conducted by Realmeter on behalf of Energy Economy from the 16th to 17th, targeting 1,004 voters aged 18 and over nationwide (100% via wired and wireless phone ARS), showed that 48.6% preferred the continuation of the current ruling power, higher than the 46.2% who favored regime change. In party support ratings, the results were People Power Party 46.5%, Democratic Party 39.0%, and Innovation Party 4.2%, among others.

The survey was conducted using random digit dialing (RDD) sampling of wired and wireless phones, with a response rate of 7.8% (1,004 responses out of 12,877 calls). Detailed information about the survey, including statistical correction methods, can be found on the Central Election Poll Deliberation Commission website.

He argued, "If the Democratic Party and investigative agencies had proceeded with judicial processing of the already incapacitated president step by step, an early presidential election would have been held soon. However, as they hastily acted like rude occupying forces and relentlessly demonized President Yoon, unexpectedly, public sentiment gradually shifted, and the situation has now reversed."

Regarding the arrest and detention warrants for President Yoon, Shin pointed out, "Koreans have long fiercely criticized such judicial systems, and their trust in them was the lowest among the 37 OECD countries. Therefore, the attitude of investigative agencies, courts, and opposition parties, who believe that judicial punishment can bring down President Yoon, completely fails to understand this national sentiment."

Shin, considered a prominent pro-Yoon figure, has consistently expressed support for President Yoon. In June last year, amid a decline in Yoon's approval ratings, he said, "Knowing that President Yoon is trying hard makes it even more regrettable. I feel his state of mind standing on the edge of a cliff, with new forces attacking from within as well as hostile external forces."

Even after the December 3 emergency martial law incident, he claimed, "I prayed for President Yoon and his wife in the dark night, recalling the extremely harsh situation they faced," adding, "From the president’s distressed expression, the devastating pain he must have endured due to internal and external conflicts caused by both opposition and ruling parties was clearly visible."
