On the morning of the 22nd at 10 a.m. (local time), at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, USA, No, who appeared as the presenter of 'Galaxy Unpacked 2025,' explained the enhanced AI of the Galaxy S25 Series, saying, "You can talk to the Galaxy S25 as if you were talking to a friend," and added, "Furthermore, you can look forward to a personalized AI companion."

At the Unpacked event, Samsung announced three models in the Galaxy S25 series: the base model, Plus, and Ultra. Unlike previous models where only the Ultra had a squared design, all three models of the Galaxy S25 feature rounded curved corners. Compared to the previous generation, the thickness was reduced by 0.4 mm across all models, and the weight was reduced by 14g for the Ultra, 6g for the Plus, and 5g for the base model. All models are equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite AP chip.

The SAP Center, where the Unpacked event was held, is a multipurpose arena established in 1993 and serves as the home stadium for the San Jose Sharks, a professional ice hockey team in the North American National Hockey League (NHL). From an hour before the event started, influencers and domestic and international media were waiting at the main entrance, filling the area in front of the venue with crowds.

No emphasized the enhanced AI of the Galaxy S25 Series through collaboration with Google. The Galaxy S25 Series strengthens personalized AI through the AI-integrated operating system 'One UI 7.' 'Now Briefing' provides customized information based on accumulated user data. This can be checked on the lock screen as a bar-shaped 'Now Bar.' No explained, "Through the personal data engine, AI experiences personal information on the user's device rather than in the cloud."

The 'AI button' on the side of the device activates Google's AI Gemini, and through 'Gemini Live,' users can have natural conversations to obtain desired information or launch applications (apps). 'Circle to Search,' which allows users to draw a circle around the desired information, applies multimodal AI to provide not only text and images but also identify the music playing in videos. Demis Hassabis, CEO of Google DeepMind, appeared via video and said, "I hope you enjoy Google's Gemini Live on the Galaxy S25."

When the upgraded camera features were demonstrated, cheers of "Wow" erupted. The feature that received the best reaction was the Galaxy S25's ability to change a photo of three people where one person had their eyes closed. When the face with closed eyes was changed to one with open eyes using the Galaxy S25, the audience was amazed. Rachel Roberts, Product Management Director at Samsung Electronics USA, who conducted the demonstration, said, "With moment capture, if someone has their eyes closed, you can select and change it to a face with open eyes." The 'Audio Eraser' AI feature, which removes noise from videos, also received a warm response. The Galaxy S25 Series is equipped with a high-resolution sensor and AI-based next-generation 'Pro Visual Engine,' and also applies solutions to improve low-light video performance.

Foreign media and influencers visiting the Unpacked venue expressed high expectations for the Galaxy S25 Series. Claudio, a reporter from Colombia, said, "I think it's an amazing phone because you can easily command AI through conversation." David, a reporter from Italy, said, "Samsung has released AI phones before, but this time it is more sophisticated, and you really feel it is an AI phone," adding, "With the new chipset, I expect the performance to be even better." Jooyeon, a domestic IT YouTuber with over 700,000 subscribers, said, "It was good to try multimodal AI, and I look forward to the future," but also expressed concern that "the functionality will improve only if more third-party apps come in." He added, "Since it uses Qualcomm's chip, performance is definitely expected."

Meanwhile, Samsung unveiled the thin version model 'Galaxy S25 Edge' for the first time in the Galaxy S series through a teasing video and displayed a prototype at the experience center. This model was known as the 'Galaxy S25 Slim' before its release. Samsung's first extended reality (XR) device, 'Muhan,' was also unveiled in physical form at the experience center.
