This is the first time in seven years since 2017 that a seventh child has been born in Goyang City.

On this day, Mayor Lee Dong-hwan extended his encouragement and congratulations to the parents who gave birth to their seventh child and promised to create a great city where all seven children can grow up healthy and happy.

The city is promoting unique and diverse policy projects to recover the rapidly declining birth rate.

In particular, in 2024, the city actively pursued policies to meet citizens' needs by improving the quality of birth celebration cakes and the Dabok package, and raising the childbirth support fund from the previous maximum of 3 million won to 10 million won.

In addition to the expanded childbirth support fund of 10 million won, the family with the seventh child will receive various support services such as postpartum care expenses (local currency 500,000 won), first meeting voucher (3 million won), parental allowance (1 million won per month), and child allowance (100,000 won per month).

Lee Dong-hwan, Mayor of Goyang Special City, said, “I am truly happy to be able to share such joyful news in this era of low birth rates. I will continue to do my best to make Goyang City a great city for raising children.”

Meanwhile, the city's childbirth support policies include △ the 'Birth Celebration Rice Cake Project' to convey congratulations to all newborn children △ the 'Dabok Package Project' to celebrate families with three or more children △ the 'Childbirth Household Loan Interest Support Project' to reduce housing cost burdens for childbearing households without homes △ the 'Childbirth Support Fund Project' to alleviate the economic burden of all childbirth families in Goyang City △ the 'Goyang Multi-Child e-Card Project' to improve welfare for multi-child families △ and the 'Comprehensive Guidebook for Pregnancy, Childbirth, and Parenting' that provides an overview of childbirth-related information in Goyang City.
