Goyang Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) held an executive meeting on the 22nd to discuss the ‘3安 (Safety, Stability, Peace of Mind) 2025 Lunar New Year Holiday Comprehensive Measures’.

Mayor Lee Dong-hwan stated, “Each department must actively prepare to prioritize the safety and convenience of citizens during the Lunar New Year holiday period,” adding, “Since this is a time of heavy travel, thorough traffic measures must be established, and the remaining period should be used to recheck the plans and actively promote them to prevent inconveniences related to waste management and medical service gaps closely connected to daily life.”

He also said, “We need to monitor price trends and the price labeling system, conduct price stabilization campaigns with market merchant associations, and make efforts to minimize household burdens,” and added, “Practical implementation plans to revitalize traditional markets should be prepared to serve as an opportunity to stabilize people’s livelihoods and invigorate local commercial districts through flawless measures.”

Furthermore, Mayor Lee stated, “With the goal of hosting the 2036 Seoul Olympics, I ask the civic society to unite and participate in the Olympic bid to establish a strong foundation,” and emphasized, “Thorough management is necessary to ensure no tax revenue is missed for efficient fund management and sound fiscal health.” He also stressed, “It is necessary to systematically identify support recipients for vulnerable housing groups and establish continuous cooperation models.”

During the executive meeting, comprehensive measures by sector were reviewed, including the operation of emergency rooms and emergency clinics, encouragement of marginalized groups, household waste collection, and convenience for outbound and inbound travelers.

Goyang City will set up a customized comprehensive situation room for citizens during the Lunar New Year holiday period and operate an emergency duty system.
