Delivery of Consolation Goods Worth Approximately 250 Million Won
Gwangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Bang Se-hwan) announced on the 22nd that it delivered consolation goods worth about 250 million won to marginalized groups and social welfare facilities in celebration of Seollal, the traditional Korean Lunar New Year, on the 21st.

This consolation event was organized to create a warm and happy holiday atmosphere for the upcoming Seollal. Consolation items worth about 29 million won, including rice, seaweed, pears, apples, rice cake soup rice cakes, toilet paper, and laundry detergent, were delivered to 18 social welfare facilities. Additionally, 5 million won in Nonghyup gift certificates were provided to 4,687 households receiving basic living subsidies to purchase holiday supplies.
In particular, Mayor Bang Se-hwan visited three residential facilities for the disabled?‘Bedani Dongsan’, ‘Hyangrim Rehabilitation Center’, and ‘Eunhye Dongsan’?to greet the residents and meet with facility workers who are dedicated to supporting the residents on the front lines of welfare, expressing his gratitude for their hard work.
He then listened to on-site difficulties and shared opinions to prepare practical service and policy implementation plans that meet the actual needs of facility users.
Mayor Bang Se-hwan said, “Since these are facilities used by people with disabilities, I ask that special attention be paid to facility safety management, such as fire prevention,” and added, “As mayor, I will do my best to find places in need of help, continuously practice a culture of sharing, and promote the welfare of residents.”
