Support Fund of 200,000 KRW Provided
to First-Time Elderly Care Facility Residents
Damyang County, South Jeolla Province (Governor Lee Byeongno), announced on the 22nd that it has prepared various support measures, including the enhancement of elderly care facility functions and the improvement of working conditions for long-term care workers in the region.
This support is a measure to improve the quality of long-term care services and to recognize the importance of elderly welfare, focusing on improving the treatment and boosting the morale of long-term care institution workers.
The county has strengthened compensation for service provision by offering improved working condition allowances to long-term care institution workers in the area, and has worked to enhance professionalism and pride in the long-term care sector by improving the working environment for care workers.
Additionally, to alleviate the financial and psychological burden on the families of elderly care facility residents, the county provides a support fund of 200,000 KRW to first-time residents of elderly care facilities. This admission support fund, implemented since May 2023, is given to those who have resided in the county for more than one year, with support totaling over 5 million KRW provided to 26 individuals so far.
Along with this, the county is also annually promoting the enhancement of elderly care facility functions so that seniors who are inevitably admitted to care homes due to deteriorating health can stay in clean and pleasant facilities.
Governor Lee Byeongno stated, "We will further raise the level of elderly welfare in the local community by implementing new policies and various support measures to respond to an aging society."
