250 Personnel Assigned Across 12 Teams
Rapid Response System Established for Traffic, Household Waste, and Medical Institutions
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 22nd that it will implement a 'Comprehensive Lunar New Year Holiday Plan' for six days from the 25th to the 30th to alleviate citizens' inconveniences during the Lunar New Year holiday period.
The city explained that during this period, 250 public officials will be deployed across 12 sectors directly related to citizens' daily lives to establish a system capable of responding promptly to various situations.
Disaster Situation Room Operated 24 Hours
During the plan period, the city will have response personnel on standby at all times to handle disasters, accidents, and civil complaints. At the city hall and business offices, 23 members in 12 teams will be on standby, and 18 personnel in 6 teams will be deployed at the three district offices of Cheoin, Giheung, and Suji to respond to emergencies.
The city operates the disaster situation room 24 hours a day to ensure citizen safety. The situation room supports rapid response by monitoring various disasters and accident situations occurring within the region.
The health and medical team will continuously monitor infectious diseases during the holiday and operate an epidemiological investigation team if a group infection occurs. In case of emergency patients, a 24-hour emergency medical response system centered on local emergency medical institutions will be maintained to enable prompt transportation.
Household Waste Collection on the 25th and 28th... Only Plastic Recycling
Household waste will be collected normally only on the 25th and 28th. There will be no collection on the 26th and 29th. On the 27th, only volume-based waste bags and plastic recyclables from apartment complexes will be collected, while other recyclables will not be collected.
On the last day of the holiday, the 30th, volume-based waste bags and recyclables will not be collected; however, plastic recyclables from apartment complexes and volume-based waste bags from Cheoin-gu's Idong-eup, Namsa-eup, Baegam-myeon, and Wonsam-myeon will be collected normally.
The city has established a cooperation system for environmental cleanup activities by organizing 'Countermeasure Situation Teams' and 'Mobile Cleaning Teams' at city hall and each district office during the holiday. It will promptly address any household waste collection complaints received. The emergency work schedule for waste disposal companies has been adjusted, and transfer station space has been secured in anticipation of increased recyclable waste such as styrofoam and scrap paper.
Contact the Call Center for Urgent Matters
The call center for various civil complaints and information will operate from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the holiday. Complaints received outside these hours will be handled by the city hall duty office. The call center provides not only complaint reception but also information on medical institutions that are open. Emergency situations such as disasters or accidents will be connected to the duty office or disaster situation team.
The transportation countermeasure team to handle road traffic situations and traffic complaints will operate for 10 days from the 24th to the 2nd of the following month. From the 25th to the 30th, the water supply countermeasure team, which has secured water trucks from two companies, will be on standby to quickly repair leaks or water outages and provide emergency water supply to areas with water supply difficulties.
The price countermeasure team for stabilizing prices during the Lunar New Year holiday and the fuel countermeasure team responsible for fuel supply, stockpiling, and safety accident preparedness will also operate during the holiday.
