Encouraging the Regeneration and Utilization of Vacant Houses
Support of Up to 70 Million KRW Available
Yeongam County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Woo Seunghee) is accepting applications for participants in the 'Jeonnam-type 10,000 Won Second House Support Project' until the 7th of next month.
According to the county on the 22nd, this project aims to improve the appearance and utilization of abandoned vacant houses, and owners of vacant houses in Yeongam are eligible to participate. The project supports either remodeling the vacant house or installing a mobile home after demolition, under the condition that the property is leased to the county free of charge for seven years.
For remodeling, up to 70 million KRW is provided for housing repair and renovation costs such as windows, wallpaper, flooring, and waterproofing. For mobile homes, purchase and installation costs are supported up to the same amount.
Through this project, the county aims to encourage the regeneration and utilization of vacant houses that negatively impact the landscape, providing benefits such as reduced management burden and increased asset value for owners. At the same time, returnees to farming and rural areas can rent these houses for 10,000 KRW, offering temporary housing and reducing initial settlement costs to improve living conditions.
Detailed information about the support project can be found in the notices section of the county website, and guidance is available from the Population and Youth Division's Return-to-Farming and Rural Team, as well as at each township and town administrative welfare center.
