Big data company Miso Information Technology has set a goal to expand its scope from the existing medical-centered field to the defense sector and to be listed on KOSDAQ through an official route in the first half of next year.

Andongwook, CEO of Miso Information Technology (photo), expressed strong confidence at a corporate briefing held on the 21st at Chosun Palace Gangnam in Seoul that entering new growth sectors based on existing business areas will accelerate growth.

Since its establishment in 2006, Miso Information Technology has focused on AI-based big data processing. Its main business is the Clinical Data Warehouse that integrates medical data within hospitals.

CEO Ahn said, "As awareness increased last year, about 70% of sales came from the medical field," and reported achieving sales of 17 billion KRW, an increase of more than 60% compared to the previous year.

CEO Ahn set a goal to increase sales to 30 billion KRW this year. He introduced that while sales usually concentrate in the second half of the year, this year sales started from the beginning of the year, recording over 10 billion KRW in sales in the first quarter alone.

He stated that building a medical big data platform, Personal Health Records (PHR), and K-Health Checkups will be major revenue sources. Medical MyData, which starts this year, is also a promising area.

CEO Ahn plans to focus on expanding the business scope beyond the medical center this year. Based on the AI Basic Act, he aims to apply big data technology to defense, distribution, manufacturing, finance, and other sectors to create new growth engines.

CEO Ahn said, "We intend to follow the same direction as Palantir in the U.S., which operates in the defense industry using AI." Palantir is a company founded by Peter Thiel, who supported former U.S. President Donald Trump in Silicon Valley. It is considered a leading company in the defense AI sector. CEO Ahn said this is an achievable transformation goal.

CEO Ahn also announced that full preparations for listing on the KOSDAQ market have begun. He stated that they will pursue a general listing based on performance rather than a technology special case.

Miso Information Technology recruited a Chief Financial Officer at the end of last year and selected Hana Securities as the lead underwriter for the listing. They plan to submit the preliminary review application in the first half of next year and enter the KOSDAQ market.
