Goyang City Maintains All 14 Chemical Accident Evacuation Sites in Normal Condition

Chemical accident evacuation sites are critical facilities that protect citizens' lives in emergency situations. This inspection was conducted comprehensively, checking the condition of the facilities, accessibility, and management status of the evacuation sites.

The inspection results showed that all evacuation sites are being properly maintained and managed, with no notable issues found.

The city plans to raise public awareness about the importance of chemical accident evacuation sites and strengthen the guidance system so that citizens can easily locate these sites during emergencies.

To this end, additional signboards clearly indicating the locations of evacuation sites will be installed, and promotional activities informing the evacuation procedures will be carried out simultaneously. Information about chemical accident evacuation sites is also reflected in popular map applications used by citizens, such as T-map.

A city official stated, “Since chemical accidents occur without warning, evacuation sites must always be safely accessible. We will conduct regular facility inspections and improve the guidance system so that citizens can easily recognize and utilize evacuation sites.”

Meanwhile, Goyang City operates a weekly “Hazardous Chemical Safety Diagnosis Day” targeting businesses handling hazardous chemicals to create a safe urban environment free of chemical accidents. The city will also continuously provide related information through its official website and social media channels to effectively inform citizens about chemical accident evacuation sites.
