Cheongsong-gun Juwangsan and Jusanj, Re-selected for 'Korea's Top 100 Tourist Attractions'

Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, announced that Juwangsan and Jusangji, the region's representative tourist attractions and renowned UNESCO Global Geopark, have been reselected for the Korea Tourism 100 list for 2025?2026, following their inclusion in 2023?2024.

The Korea Tourism 100 is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization. It is a project that selects and promotes Korea's representative tourist destinations that both domestic and foreign tourists must visit every two years.

The selection process involves evaluation of previously selected tourist sites, recommendations from local governments, big data analysis, document reviews, on-site evaluations, and is finalized through a deliberation by the final selection committee.


Selected tourist destinations receive various preferential benefits such as participation in travel fairs, promotional activities, distribution of maps and souvenirs.


The newly selected Juwangsan National Park boasts outstanding natural scenery including the magnificent Yongchu Waterfall, Jusangji Pond, and Jeolgol Valley. It offers different charms each season and provides hiking trails of various difficulty levels suitable for beginners to experienced hikers, making it beloved by many.


County Governor Yoon Kyung-hee stated, “Through the re-selection to the Korea Tourism 100, we will further promote the beautiful natural scenery of Juwangsan and Jusangji, and expand tourism infrastructure such as the Juwangsan premium food creation project to provide convenience and satisfaction to visitors.”
