Deputy Governor Kang communicated directly with merchants at the site and, together with private experts in each field, inspected aging facilities and potential fire hazards.
During this inspection, the county checked the management status of sprinklers and whether any obstacles were placed in fire prevention zones to identify fire risks in advance. Immediate corrective actions were taken for any identified issues. The county also plans to continuously strengthen safety inspections at traditional markets to create an environment where residents can use the markets with peace of mind.
Deputy Governor Kang Kyungdeok stated, "Traditional markets are inherently vulnerable to fires, and most fires are caused by carelessness. Therefore, we conducted a joint inspection ahead of the Lunar New Year to ensure the safety of citizens and returning visitors. We will prioritize accident prevention and continue to carry out fire and electrical safety management through professional companies."
Meanwhile, on the same day, the county also conducted a fire prevention campaign at Jangsu Market for local residents, with more than 20 participants including county safety monitors and staff from the Safety and Disaster Division.
