The Rural ESG Practice Recognition System is a program jointly hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, and the Foundation for Cooperation between Large, Medium, Small Enterprises and Agriculture and Fisheries. It is implemented to support recognition and promotion of sustainable development in agriculture, fisheries, and rural areas, as well as ESG practice activities and win-win cooperation by companies, institutions, and organizations in rural areas.

In accordance with the Corporation’s commitment to company-wide ESG management practice, it received high evaluations for △ greenhouse gas reduction and waste electronic product resource circulation programs utilizing an eco-friendly management system △ support programs for small business owners and sales of agricultural specialty products linked to tourism projects △ cultural and sports support activities to expand family diversity and realize child welfare △ helping farm households through local community networks.

Among the 52 companies and institutions that obtained the 2024 Rural ESG Practice Recognition, the Corporation is the only local public enterprise under the Ministry of the Interior and Safety subject to evaluation. Its efforts to resolve the difficulties of rural society due to regional characteristics of Yeoncheon-gun, such as overlapping regulations and population decline, have been recognized.

Chairman Song Seung-won stated, “Rural areas are facing the risk of extinction due to ongoing climate change and population decline,” adding, “As a local public enterprise and a citizen of Yeoncheon-gun, we will continue to spare no effort in company-wide cooperation and support for the win-win growth and development of rural society.”
