Kim Heung-guk on the Western District Court Riot: "Don't Ask Me" Then Calls It "Self-Expression" Singer Kim Heung-guk.

Following the arrest of President Yoon Suk-yeol, some far-right supporters broke into the Seoul Western District Court and caused a disturbance. Singer Kim Heung-guk (66) defended the incident, calling it "an expression of liberal democracy."

On the 19th, after the arrest of President Yoon was confirmed, far-right supporters smashed windows with fire extinguishers, police shields, and metal pipes, and stormed the Western District Court. Police officers and reporters were also assaulted. The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency is sequentially applying for arrest warrants for 66 of the 90 people arrested. Among them, five underwent pre-arrest suspect hearings (warrant hearings), and two were detained.

Regarding this, Kim Heung-guk engaged in a heated exchange with netizens in the comment section of his YouTube channel 'DeuridaeTV' on the 20th. When netizen A asked, "There was a disturbance at the Seoul Western District Court yesterday. What do you think about it, senior Kim Heung-guk?" Kim replied, "Don't ask me." He then added, "Those people were angry. It's an expression of liberal democracy," seemingly defending the riot.

When netizen A further commented, "In your previous speech, you said 'Deuridae.' I want to hear your opinion on occupying a government institution by riot due to anger and assaulting the police," Kim Heung-guk drew a line, saying, "Their feelings are what matter. Don't ask me."

Kim Heung-guk also responded sharply to aggressive comments. When netizen B wrote, "There was a riot at the Western District Court. Is this what you consider right-wing? Is this normal? Please get a grip," Kim replied, "You get a grip."

On the 2nd, Kim Heung-guk also visited the site of the 'Rally to Prevent the Arrest of President Yoon Suk-yeol' held near the presidential residence in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, saying, "We must protect President Yoon, so all Marine Corps alumni, seniors and juniors, head to Hannam-dong." At that time, after declaring his support for President Yoon, he expressed frustration over online attacks, saying, "My popular song 'Horangnabi' (Tiger Butterfly) has been mocked as 'Gyeom Nabi' (Martial Law Butterfly) and 'Naeran Nabi' (Rebellion Butterfly). I don't understand why South Korea has come to this."
